Hi I'm Juan

My name is Juan La Rotta, I love to do crossfit, Play the Cello, love being outside, am currently a missionary, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to workout, primarily lift weights, run, play soccer and basketball.I love to run the 1600m and 800m for track and of course 5000m for cross country. I love to be positive about life, and always love to try new sports and be around the people i care about, as well as new people. I am the youngest out of 5 kids. I also love to participate in Crossfit when I can, and I'm a missionary for the capital of the world, the washington D.C north mission. I love it, like it, and live it.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger my parents joined the church from Catholicism to Mormonism, but I would go to church but it was usually a regular thing I did as a kid; follow what my parents did. It was by High School where I started to "Question" what was it what i believed in? was I doing this because it was a course of habit or was it because I really truly knew that this gospel was true. I kept on going through the flow, to just go on with life, until I found myself researching for myself to see if this was true, if God even existed. I'm a person who relies on facts. it wasn't by then I listened to that repeated phrase " If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God". I didn't know if I should, it seemed so weird, for a kid who just went with the flow. I then thought, I really had to trust the scientist who made theories. I then prayed a silent prayer in my head and immediately I was brought to a remembrance of how much joy the gospel brought to me. I had the chills and the knowledge of how this gospel is the true gospel. I only got the answer because i asked for it, and now i know for a fact that this is true. The Lord is willing to answer our questions, only if we are willing to ask it sincerely. This gospel is everything, and everything I do revolves around it. I love how I'm living right now, and I love the blessings i receive from it.

How I live my faith

I honestly think the best way to live my faith is by doing as Jesus Christ did and serving others. it's such an experience when you go out of your way to help someone else, and know that you're doing the Lord's work as well. Not only is the church a part of my life, but it has shaped many of my decisions that I take in a regular basis. It feels like the Lord is really blessing you in every step I take. It has given me such a different perspective in life in which, whenever something bad happens, I know that it is there to strengthen me and to humble me. It's such a good feeling to know that the Lord hasn't left us, but is always there in thick and thin.
