Hi I'm Jessica

I was born and raised in Utah. I love all different kinds of art and love my family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love art and camping. I'm the oldest sibling of my family and we love to travel. I play two instruments. one better than the other, but I love to listen to music and listen to the different parts of the piece I hear. I like to write short stories and love interior design. I love painting faces and I think I'm really good at it, that's why I love Halloween.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was baptized at eight I felt like I was going through the motions. I just did it because I had family and friends that were being baptized and I wanted to be like them. I didn't really want to be a part of the church till high school when I heard others telling me their stories and their experiences in the gospel. I started hanging with the wrong crowd and I didn't think I really wanted to be in the church till my parents told me that " it's easier leaving the church than getting back into it" and they shared how they left and they did things they weren't proud of. I prayed and asked if he really wanted me in his church than give me a sign that I should and that he was there. Not long after I said that my mom came to me and told me that she thought I should stay and it was the first time that she bore her testimony to me and I really felt the spirit and I stayed ever since. I love this gospel and I will continue to stay in it no matter what trials I may face and Heavenly Father is aware of you and your situation and and will help you in any way he can. I know Thomas s. Monson is the true and living prophet on this earth today. that is my testimony.

How I live my faith

I love to talk to people and get to know others. I loved doing this when I was in young women's in church. I like to let people know that they are loved and tried my best in all my callings and I hope I will continue to do well in my future callings.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Jessica
Being prepared in the church is important, because when a natural disaster, out financial crisis hits in your life it can be easier to get back up having food, water and other necessities. Being self reliant will help you more than you can imagine. It helps you to not worry about things if you know how to handle those situations and the church is willing to teach you how to do that. Actually betting self reliant and emergency perpared can not only help yourself, but also others around you, by being that rock that others might need in bad situations. I know when when the power goes out or when water is hard to find during an emergency, it helps to have food stored and water when I need it or when others need it. They really go hand in hand if you think about it. Show more Show less
