Hi I'm Steffany

I am the middle child of five, I'm an artist, reader, musician, quilter, expert explorer, avid adventurer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have loved reading since I was a little girl. I was that girl who's books got taken away until her chores were accomplished. Anything that is happy, fun, exciting, and good I like to be involved with. A few years ago I discovered that, although it may be an "old lady" activity, I love quilting! Blankets are full of love and memories and quilting is like a nice little puzzle to be solved. I love anything to do with art and am most likely a professional crafter. If you get to know me you will probably end up with a note and some cookies. I LOVE MY FAMILY. My four siblings are my best friends in the whole world, and we are awesome family road trippers - National parks, water falls, cool hikes, backpacking trips, camping, or mountain adventures -we are there one hundred percent. Last year I found I have a secret love for areal dancing, (those silk ribbons that hang from the ceiling... I climb up and tie my self in knots in order to fall and do flips.) If you want to see cool bruises and feel sore all over, try doing that for a few weeks. It is an absolute blast. I really enjoy meeting and talking to new people. Everyone has a story, and everyone is important. I am obsessed with any and all of out side. If you drive in a car with me you will hear about the clouds, mountains, and surrounding foliage. What can I say? this world is a beautiful place! I have been going to college for three years, but am going to take a short break and serve a mission! Which, I am so excited to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it brings me joy! I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know that Heavenly Father loves us. Because He loves us, He wants us to have a modern day prophet to help us each day. I know that this church is true because I have taken the time to read The Book of Mormon, Another Testament Of Jesus Christ, and with each page, Heavenly Father has whispered to my heart it was true. I'm a Mormon because I have prayed, studied, and worked to know for myself that this is the same church Christ organized while He was on the earth, that it has been restored through proper authority in these latter days, and that we have a modern day prophet who receives revelation for our day. I know that our Heavenly Father knows each one of us, individually. He knows our name and we are important to Him. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and came to this earth for us because He loves us. He suffered for us that He might be able to help us through all sorrows, and also rejoice with us in all of our triumphs. I know that our prayers are heard and answered from the simple requests of help in finding our keys, to the bigger questions like, "Is this church true/" I know that the Book of Mormon is truly another testament of our Savior and that we have living prophets today to help us. God is not silent. I know that death is not the end, and that it is possible to be with my family for eternity. I know that this gospel brings joy, peace, and happiness in a world that is complicated and confusing. This gospel is the answer to every question I have ever had and my strength when I feel I cannot continue. I'm a Mormon because I choose everyday to continue to live what I know to be true, because it brings me joy, and because it is everything to me. I'm a Mormon because I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

Something that helps me live my faith each day is remembering who I am and the potential I have. I am a daughter of our Father in Heaven. This means that I have full potential to become as He is. I am not perfect yet, and often make mistakes. When this happens it gives me a chance to get to know my Savior and Father in Heaven more. I do a few things every day to help me stay on track and remember who I am and who I represent. You see, I want my Father to always be able to be proud of me, even if it means I'm just trying my hardest. Some of these things are: praying, reading and studying the scriptures, listening to current talks from church leaders, smiling at people, and giving compliments when I think of something nice. A few years ago I started writing down each night how I have seen God's hand in my life that day. This helps me recognize moments where He has blessed me or helped me to bless someone else. It also reminds me of what is most important. This may seem odd, but I live my faith each day by choosing to be happy and see the good in what my life has brought me. Mostly, I live my faith by trying very hard to be my best self with Heavenly Father's help. I want people to see how much happiness this gospel has brought me and to be able to help them feel His love when they talk to me.
