Hi I'm Jess

I work full time, love music and reading, I'm a single Mom, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music and the joy it brings to me. I enjoy reading and the places your imagination can take you. I love to travel and see all the beautiful places in the world. I am a single Mom and work full time to support us. I love spending time with my family, especially my nieces and nephews - family is the most important thing in the world to me!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church but spent several years away while in my 20's. I made choices that were not in line with how I had been raised but my family loved me and supported me no matter what. I found myself expecting my son when I was 24 and was scared out of my mind and wondering how I would take care of us. I never had to worry, the love of my family and of those in my Ward was amazing. Even though I was still not an active member, the women in my Ward reached out with more love than I knew what to do with. Fast-forward 4 years and my relationship with my son's father has now ended and I felt so lost. One night in desperation I prayed to my Father in Heaven for help in knowing what to do next. The answer, the love, and the feeling of peace was amazing. I made the decision to return to the church, knowing that those teachings from my childhood had never left me and that even though I had made mistakes I was loved and He wanted me there and would help me get through my challenges. Our life isn't perfect and being a single mom is hard but I know without a doubt that the Lord watches over us and blesses us when he follow his teachings. I have seen many blessings come from faith, both mine and my family. We are never alone, we always have someone to turn to who will help and guide us so that we can return to Him someday. Knowing this gives me comfort and helps me to find the strength to continue on when times are tough.

How I live my faith

I serve in our Ward Primary (children's group ages 3-12) as the Secretary and love being around the children and their sweet spirits each week. I serve with some pretty amazing people and I know how much they all love these children too. My son and I attend our weekly meetings and I strive to live up to the examples of those we have been taught about. We look for ways to serve our community, help out with local drives and events whenever we can. It's important to me that my son learn to serve others as Jesus served those He was with. I try to be a friend to everyone I meet and to be accepting of them no matter what their background or beliefs.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

The missionaries will talk to you about Heavenly Father's plan for us and how we can return to him. They will share scriptures with you and pray to invite the Spirit in to your home. They will answer questions you have and review the basic Gospel principles with you. They will invite you to attend a meeting (if you have not already) and set up times to meet with you and your family to continue the lessons. Show more Show less
