Hi I'm Kirk

I'm a retired police officer, married to the best wife in the world (she is watching) with five grown children.

About Me

I joined the church at age 19 in 1966 because the girl I was dating had a family rule that she could only date non-members 3 times. So I figured, "what the heck" send me the missionaries. Unlike many who joined because of a burning testimony, I didn't have one. Later in 1966 I joined the Army because of the Viet Nam war, and it was there that I gained my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. It has blessed my life beyond measure - I have a wonderful wife (she's still watching), and five great children and ten beautiful grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

Having joined the church when I was 19 years old, I've had the opportunity to be a member of other churches. My testimony in the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has grown to where I have no doubt that it is true. My life without the Church had me adrift in a sea of confusion. With the help of the gospel, I was able to find a direction in my life and the rudder I needed to keep my ship on course.

How I live my faith

My faith has impacted every part of my life from the choices I make to the way I treat others and spend my time. As a law enforcement officer, people are watching everything you do, whether on duty or off. The church has given me the opportunity and guidelines to be able to live successfully in both environments. Most everyone in our community knows who I am, which makes me strive to live the gospel to the best of my ability and not bring any discredit to the church or to my profession.
