Hi I'm Joyce B. Larson

I was blesses to be born into a good Mormon family and have always been active in the church.

About Me

While attending college I met and married a choice son of God. We have been blessed with 7 children who we love very much. They in turn married good people and we now have 27 grandchildren and 1 great grand child. I have first and foremost been a wife and mother and was fortunate enough to be a stay home mom. I love to be a homemaker--cooking, sewing, canning, gardening and basically making our house into a home. In addition I enjoy quilting, reading, oil painting and going out anywhere with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been taught from my youth that God loves me and knows me personally. I have had prayers answered and know that He is watching out for me. There have been times of stress and uncertainty when I have felt the promptings of the Spirit and have been guided in the paths I should take. God's true church and His priesthood have been restored to the earth in our day through the Prophet Joseph Smith. He, because of commandment from God, translated ancient plates which are now known as the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Christ. It testifies of the truthfulness of the Bible and makes clear many things. I know there is a Prophet on the earth today just as there was in earlier times talked about in the Bible. God would not leave us alone but loves us just like he did those ancient people. Our Prophet is God's mouthpiece on earth today and we are blessed as we follow his instructions. I am able to make covenants with my Heavenly Father and in turn he blesses me and my family. Through God's Priesthood, which my good husband holds, our family is able to get direction for problems and unanswered questions. He is also able to lay his hands upon our heads and give us blessings of healing. We have seen this work many times in our family.

How I live my faith

We attend church every Sunday and try very hard to keep the Sabbath Day holy. In our church I have been a teacher, music leader, homemaking leader and leader in the organizations of the young women and older women. My favorite responsibility was teaching music to the youth of the church. In our community, I do volunteer work for the Senior Center by making quilt tops they can quilt and then sell to make money for the Center. I hope that my example of happiness, faith, and love can be seen by those I meet. I know that we are all children of God and I try to treat others in that way. My husband and I have been in many third world countries doing humanitarian work. We have been our churches representatives to help schools, hospitals and handicapped organizations get needed supplies. This has included in part, wheelchairs, school kits, medical equipment, hygiene kits, computers, training to get jobs and teaching English. We have also helped many villages get clean water to the people. In the process, we have learned to love these people and have a better understanding of the kind of life they live.
