Hi I'm Evelyn Munoz

I moved to the United States when I was 14. I live in California. I'm a mom of two wonderful girls. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 20 years and am the mother of two very special daughters. My oldest is 19 years old, loves playing the piano, and is currently serving a mission in the Dominican Republic. My youngest is 14 years old, is in the 9th grade and likes playing the violin. I'm an elementary school teacher. Teaching is my passion. I am currently working to finish my Masters degree in Curriculum design and technology. When I'm not working, I enjoy reading historical fiction, digital scrapbooking, and spending time with my daughters. My favorite thing to do is going on road trips with my family. Yes, I have the travel bug!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. My husband was the one who introduced me to the church before we were married, and after taking the lessons and feeling the spirit SO strongly I decided to get baptized. For as cliche as this may sound, I felt lost and didn't know what my purpose in life was before I became a Mormon. Being a Mormon is not just a title, it's MY way of life. I have found happiness in the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel loved and cared for even when I'm at my lowest. I am a better person because I have accepted this simple truth: that I am a daughter of God, and He loves me, and it is for this reason that He has given us commandments to follow. Being a member of this church motivates me to BE good and to DO good. I feel blessed to have this gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

My faith is my guiding light. It influences my choices in life and my attitude towards others. How I deal with my challenges and success in life is part of that. I feel a sense of peace when I am closer to my Heavenly Father and that makes every challenge that comes my way more endurable. Through my faith and diligence to be obedient, I hope to influence and help others to reach their potential, especially my daughters.
