Hi I'm Elder Hansen

Hi I am a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I've moved 19 times. And I love extreme sports and life!

About Me

I have been graduated from high school for 2 years now. So as you can guess I am 20 years old. I have worked as a cabinet installer, I have worked in a Nursery for plants, I have worked as a handyman, and now I am serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Texas Houston East Mission. I do know that the Book of Mormon is true! And I know that I have a clear purpose in life! I love to snowboard, wake board, swim, fish, hunt, dirt bike, travel, and all other extreme sports! I love having opportunities to serve everyone and anyone around me! I strive to live my life in a way that my Savior Jesus Christ would want me to live! I am a middle child of 10 kids. My parents separated and got divorced when I was only 5 years old and since then both of my parents have remarried. I have 7 step-siblings and 3 blood related siblings! But to me it doesn't matter. They are my brothers and sisters no matter what! I know that my Heavenly Father loves each of us. I have been through a lot of trials in my life as almost everyone has, and I know that God has been there to help me through them. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the peace that it brings to my life! And I hope that I can help others to find the same joy and peace that I have felt and continue to feel in my life!

Why I am a Mormon

The reason that I strive to live my faith is because God has told me through the Holy Spirit that the things which I have been taught are true. Now, I want to let you know that it hasn't been an easy path. There are those who will persecute you for what you believe. But the things that keep me going is the knowledge I have gained through study of the Book of Mormon, The Holy Bible (King James Version), and through prayer. I have asked my Heavenly Father specifically through prayer to know if the Book of Mormon is his word! I have asked him to know whether Joseph Smith really was a prophet! I do know through answers I have gotten through the spirit of God that Joseph Smith is a prophet and that the Book of Mormon is God's word! And I know that through living the Gospel that I have learned and come to know is true that my family will be blessed, I will be blessed, and those who are around me will be able to be blessed as well! I do know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and my Redeemer and that it is only through him that I can repent of my sins and become clean. I know that baptism by God's priesthood authority is necessary to enter into his Kingdom. And I have been baptized by that authority. I know it and I know that God knows it. He has given me a witness from the spirit that my baptism was done under his authority. And I now hold that authority to baptize, to bless and heal the afflicted, to give blessings of comfort and to do many other things that God would have me do! The priesthood is not any kind of magic. It is the power of God given to man to bless others. I love this Gospel and I will remain true to the things that God has given to me!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I strive to be a Christ-like example to all those around me. And I am trying to live my life in the way that my Savior Jesus Christ wants me to. For me I love to read the scriptures daily. It helps me to have the spirit of God with me and to be more patient and loving to those around me. I know that sometimes trials will come my way but I try to remember that God is always there! He helps me and guides me to do the things that will bless my life and bless the lives of others around me at the same time! I strive to follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit! I pray for guidance and strength each day! I want to share what I know with others to help and bless their lives! And I know that if I do my very best to serve my Heavenly Father he will bless me in my life with the things that both me and my family will need!

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Elder Hansen
The Savior taught His disciples, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations” (Matthew 28:19). As followers or disciples of Jesus Christ, and also members of His Church. We are very enthusiastic about proclaiming the good news of His restored gospel to all who are willing to hear. I love this Gospel, it has brought me so much peace throughout my trials in life and it has helped me to gain a greater love for my brothers and sisters in the world! I go out and proselyte so that others can learn more about the Savior's Gospel. I love my Savior and I know that he is my friend! He has called on me to share the truth about the Restored Gospel with others! I know that through study and prayer each individual can receive a witness to know that the Book of Mormon is true. As well as to know that Joseph Smith truly was a Prophet of God and that he restored the church and Gospel of Jesus Christ here on the earth! Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Elder Hansen
No, as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints we love to serve everyone! We look for ways to help not only members of our church but for anyone who needs a helping hand! We love to Serve and help others to show our love for all and to follow the example of our Savior Jesus Christ! After all it is a commandment given from Christ himself! We are to love our neighbor as we would ourselves! And as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints we try to emulate that example of Jesus Christ to serve others and to love our neighbors! Show more Show less
