Hi I'm Mitch

I grew up in Idaho. I am a huge basketball fan and like to play the piano, the guitar, and sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Idaho and grew up with 4 brothers and 1 sister. We come from humble beginnings but have always had enough for our needs. I also speak Spanish. I was a missionary for the church in Chile for two years. Now I have been back for about a year and I am studying Public Relations at BYU-Idaho. I also am getting ready to get married here in 2 weeks. I am 22 years old and am very grateful to God for all that he has done for me in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have been able to feel of God's love for me. I have been on my knees many times and prayed and asked God to give me answers on where I should go. I have also studied it out in my mind and have questioned myself many times if it is true. As I have studied and as I have prayed, I have felt in my heart that it is true and that I am going the right way. I decided to get baptized and continue faithful in the church. I have felt how God has helped me through my trails and how he has helped me to understand different things that happen in life. I feel so blessed to be a member of the church.

How I live my faith

I try as hard as I can every day to live according to the will of God. Lots of people think that the will of God is hard or undesirable. I have gone through times in my life where I too have thought some of those same things. However, as I have let his will be done istead of mine, I have come to find that when we do what he says, we are happier. His commandments truly are for our own good. He does not set these rules to punish us or to restrain us. His commandments are more like guard rails that protect us from the danger that is on the other side. In the church, I have had the privilege to serve in many different areas. I have been a teacher to adults and I have also been a teacher to the younger children. I also have been able to organize activities and help with the music. Overall, there are a lot of things that you can do in the church to learn to become like Christ and serve as he served.
