Hi I'm Nancy

I was baptized when I was 22 years old. My husband and I have 6 children, 22 grand children and 1 great grand baby.

About Me

My husband and I have been married 47 years. We have 6 children, 22 grand children and 1 great grand baby. I worked for a local government agency for 30 years. I love to garden, cook, find my ancestors, go on long walks to just think and enjoy nature. I love all animals but dogs and horses are my most favorite. I enjoy my wonderful family and love being with them.

Why I am a Mormon

When my husband and I were first married he was a member of the Church but was very inactive. He hadn't gone to church for a long time and was not living some of the principles. I was raised Protestant but my family did not go to church on a regular basis. It was mostly on Easter, Christmas, etc. When I go married and started having children, my husband and I both knew we wanted to raise our children with a knowledge of God and Jesus Christ. My husband said to me, "I'll go to your church if you'll go to mine", so we could decide on what church to attend. Well, we went to his first, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." I loved it. I loved the spirit that I felt there. The people were warm and friendly. We started attending. We had the Missionaries come to our house and I listened to learn more about this church. I am a logical person and I knew what the Missionaries were telling me about the plan of salvation was true. I loved that families can be together forever. That's what I wanted for my family. I was baptized in December. I am the only member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in my family. I am thankful that my family loves and supports me even if they choose not to be a member of my Church. Another thing that was wonderful about the Missionaries coming to our home and telling me about the gospel was that my husband was converted also. Even though he was already a member of the Church, the spirit was strong and he knew he wanted to change some of his bad habits and be active in the Church. The gospel has made my life happy. Not all of the time, we have had a lot of trials, but with the help of my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and the knowledge of the "Plan of Salvation" I can get through all that life hands me.

How I live my faith

I love children and have loved teaching the children the gospel. I have also taught my sisters in the gospel and love to visit my sisters each month as I do my visiting teaching. My husband has served as Bishop of our ward for the past 5 years and I have enjoyed being a support to him.
