Hi I'm Jeanelly

I'm a sister. I'm a friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an amateur craftswoman/artist, I love to read and write, but most importantly, I love to laugh. I have 3 brothers that I completely adore, and I'm a college student. I'm a convert to the church and I love my faith. Right now, I'm preparing to serve a mission for the Lord for 18 months. I've been called to serve in the Canada, Montreal mission and I look forward to serving there.

Why I am a Mormon

I've chosen to be a Mormon because I found that through His church, I was able to personalize my relationship with the Lord. I'm a Mormon because I love the standards we hold. I know what I need to do to keep a constant connection with the Lord. Before I knew about the church, I was heartbroken and I felt so alone. My faith was lacking and I was starting to doubt in the existence of a Heavenly Father. But I rememberthat I prayed. I prayed that He would be there and help me through this difficult time. I prayed that I wouldn't feel alone and that I would feel His love. I prayed for Him to take my pain away. God answered my prayers. But not in the way that I expected. Missionaries came knocking at our door soon after. We took their lessons and came to church. I felt awkward, out of place, and exposed. But as I listened to the missionaries and read the Book of Mormon, I felt like the smoke had cleared. My mind cleared and I could see who I was again. I could see who my Father in Heaven was. I could feel His love for me again. I felt whole again. The pain didn't go away quickly. It lingered. I was still hurt and I didn't know how anything in my family would ever be the same. And things never were the same. There's still trials and pain when it comes to some things, but I know that through the Lord's standards and the example of loving families that I've seen in His chuch, I can raise my own future family with the love and wisdom that Heavenly Father intended for me to have. I chose this path because I knew exactly what I wanted for my future family. I chose this path because I knew what I wanted for me. I continue to choose this path because I know that my Father in Heaven loves me and knows my name. I want to do all that I can to go back to Him and I know that through Him, all things are made whole. Despite the messiness and pain of life, we have Him. And through Him is hope, love, and happiness. That is what I continually aim for. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Since moving home to prepare for my mission, I have helped organize a food drive and collect sleeping bags for those in need during the winter months. I love to be of any help that I can. Service activities are my favorite kind of activities. I live my faith through example. I aim to be Christ-like in all that I do and say. Where I work, not many people know what the Mormon Church is. So what better way is there to tell them about my faith than by showing them how I live. The majority of my family is not Mormon. But because they know my standards, they know that they do not have to worry about me getting into trouble. They know that they can count on me for emotional and physical support. I live my faith by working to love everyone that I encounter. I live my faith by serving others.
