Hi I'm Linda Davenport

I'm a convert & asked the missionaries why it took them so long to find me. Everything they taught I loved. Proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from BYU in Provo, Utah with a BS and became accredited as a school teacher at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. I taught elementary school in Idaho, Colorado, and New Jersey. I had 4 wonderful children and now have 15 beautiful grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have studied and prayed about the church and have received a spiritual witness that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. This church gives me purpose and direction that you cannot get any where else. The Book of Mormon is another testament that Jesus Christ did exist and it validates the truth of the Bible. There is no way that it can be disputed. This gospel is the gospel of happiness and shows us how to have heavenly homes here upon the earth today, and how we can keep them eternally. I have done many things and traveled many places in my life and nothing has given me such joy and happiness and purpose as serving my Heavenly Father under the guidance of a living Prophet that only our church has upon the face of the earth.

How I live my faith

I love to serve in callings in the church. A very special place in my heart is Primary. Children have an automatic love for our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. I love directing choirs singing music that touch the hearts and souls of those who sing and those who listen.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Linda Davenport
I have learned through prayer that if I repent of my sins that I know the Lord has forgiven me and I can forgive myself. I know the Lord knows my by name and died for me and knows my joy and my pain and that he loves me. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Linda Davenport
Everyone needs to become baptized to return to our Heavenly Father. We are the only church that provides a way where everyone in the world and in the past can become baptized. Our church provides proxy baptisms for those who have passed away. They then, in heaven, can chose for themselves if they want to accept that ordinance. What a glorious service this is. When we go to baptize for a person who we have worked to find in our family histories, many times we actually feel their presence and their love and joy. Show more Show less
