Hi I'm Linda

I was born and raised in New York City, I play the piano and violin, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in New York City to Peruvian parents. I went to a performing arts high school where I played the piano and the violin. As of now I play the piano for 15 years and the violin for 6 years. I love dancing Peruvian folklore and it helps me to experience my roots and where my family came from. I am attending Brigham Young University-Idaho majoring in Accounting. I love latin dancing and was a latin dance instructor at my university. I am still improving in my volleyball skills but a sport that I don't play but I love to watch in my spare time is soccer.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel and all the teachings there is and the happiness and joy that comes from it. Both my parents are converts to the church and if it weren't for missionaries who taught them when they were young, where would we be now. Where would I be now? How would my life be? I know that I am not alone in this world and I have a Father in Heaven who answers my prayers when ask him. He listens to each one of us. I prayed to know that the Book of Mormon is true and I have received an answer that it is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God who restored the church in it's fullness. I know that families are for eternity and I will be with my family forever and that is my greatest joy.

How I live my faith

I love serving others. Whether it is at church or outside of church I just love helping others. When Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast in October 2012, the church asked for volunteers and I quickly volunteered to help. The Mormon Helping Hands helped clean all the debris from the storm, cleaning houses and their basements, taking out furniture that was destroyed by the flood of the hurricane. During that time while helping others in the aftermath of the hurricane, I got the chance to tell people of my beliefs and to let them know who I am and why I was taking time away from my everyday life to go and help them. It was amazing for me to see the happiness in their eyes as we helped them and my love for the people I was helping whom I did not even know, grew.
