Hi I'm John

I grew up here in Philippines together with my parents, brothers and sister. I like to meet new friends like you :) I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm not a famous person, I'm just a simple guy who wants to be the best that I can. I want to explore and push my limits with Him. I like swimming, that's my type of sports and I also like jogging and running and playing football together with the youth and single adults here and I also like to play badminton. I like reading, because reading can sharpen our minds. I don't have sons and daughters cause I'm just a twenty year old guy who want's to go to college, I want to learn more and gain more good knowledge and wisdom. I was once a CAT officer in our school like a military and police but we don't have real guns cause we don't need it. I always want to lead a good and dedicated group. We should love and care for others, and lead them in good works like Him :)

Why I am a Mormon

My father is already a member of our church before I was born here on earth, I think that my father is the first member in our families lineage. I believe and I know that because he has a record in the famillysearch.org site, I saw that record. And also with the help of my relatives I traced my great grand father and mother. I'm proud and happy to say and tell you that I have an account there. I choose to be baptized, become a member of His Church, and receive His wonderful blessings here. I know that this church has the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ because this is His true church that has been restored because of the willingness of Prophet Joseph Smith in knowing the true church of Jesus Christ in His time. This is His only true church here on earth. Why did I said that? It is better that you will know it for yourself just like me. It is important that you will have a desire to know that for yourself. It will not be easy but it's worth it. :)

How I live my faith

I like to do some Community Service Project to our brothers and sisters in their homes together with the members of our ward because.. that's how I can help them to prepare themselves to love others like us. I also like to participate on a program of our church.. like we will teach the investigators of our church why they should prepare a 72 hour kit and how to prepare it and when. I was once a youth leader. I did my best to help them how to do their duties well and be a better person, share my thoughts and to make plans for their activities and programs. I love doing those things :)

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

John
Savior's Atonement is the most important and most transcendent event in the history of the world. Through His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross, the Savior atoned for our sins. We can’t fully understand how Jesus suffered for our sins. But we know that in the Garden of Gethsemane, the weight of our sins caused Him to feel such agony that He bled from every pore (Doctrine and Covenants 19:16-17). Later, as He hung upon the cross, Jesus again felt the weight of our sins even as He willingly suffered painful death by one of the most cruel methods ever known. In addition to the fearful suffering incident to crucifixion, the agony of Gethsemane had recurred, intensified beyond human power to endure. In that bitterest hour the dying Christ faced the most terrible reality with the knowledge that He will be with our Heavenly Father soon. The Savior tells us: “For behold, I... have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer... even as I.” (Doctrine and Covenants 19:16-17) Jesus Christ did what only He could do in atoning for our sins. To make His Atonement fully effective in our individual lives, we must have faith in Christ, repent of our sins, be baptized and confirmed by one having authority, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, obey God’s commandments, receive sacred ordinances, and strive to become like Him. As we do these things through His Atonement, we can return to live with Him and our Heavenly Father forever. Show more Show less
