Hi I'm Roger

I am the fourth son in a family of eight, three girls and five boys and a foster sister. All five boys served missions.

About Me

I grew up on a Ranch. Graduated from High School. Went on a Mission to the Southwest Indian Mission. Went to CSU and BYU taking classes in Art and Agriculture. I am a dad of six and grandpa of 21. I have been a general contractor and worked in Physical Facilities for the LDS church. I like to do wood carving and oil and water color painting. I like to be outside watching the seasons change.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been members of the LDS church for six generations. I was born into this family. The family I was raised in had what was called Family Hour, a predecessor to Family Home Evening. We went to church as a family. The example of my grandfather who went on a mission as an adult, leaving his family at home, has influenced me and my brothers all went on missions. Now I am serving a mission with my wife. I gained a personal testimony of the gospel while reading the Book of Mormon as a youth. My fathers example of community service, instilled in me a desire to likewise serve. The people and prophets in the Book of Mormon have become real to me. Their stories have influenced me and the way I taught my children. Temple Marriage has been a stabalizing and motivational force for good.

How I live my faith

I have been Farm Bureau President, on the county Fair Board, EMT, and on the Planning and Zoning board in the county. I was one on the first Board Members of the National Mormon Pioneer Heritage Area. Serving to help counties along the Heritage Hiway 89 in Utah. I have been a Cub Scout Leader and Sunday School Teacher.I have held several leadership positions in my church. I love to serve others. I helped with a Pageant telling the story of the town I grew up in.
