Hi I'm Jessica

I love being outdoors, I love spending time with family, Latin dancing is one of my many joys of life, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently attending BYU. I volunteer with the red cross, and have been with them since high school. I enjoy reading. I like snowboarding, although I'm not that great at it. I love being outdoor. I am really close with my immediate and extended family. My mom is from Mexico, and that side of my family always has something going on. Rarely a month goes by that I'm not at someone's birthday party, a wedding, or a family game night. I absolutely love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family that attends church regularly. I've decided to remain with the church simply because it brings me joy. I have yet to experience something that brings me as much as this gospel does. I see the lives of close cousins without the gospel, and there is a feeling of emptiness when I talk to them. It's hard to explain. I think of all the hard times in life that have left me crying myself to sleep, and I can't think of going through those times without there being a purpose for them. This gospel brings me hope and faith that these dreadful times are not there to tear me down. They are there to stretch me and make me a grand person, but only through the help of my Savior can this be done. I love this gospel. I rely upon it so heavily, I wouldn't want to imagine my life without it.

How I live my faith

I am currently a ward missionary, which basically means I get to go out and visit with people. Sometimes I even get to do visits with the sister missionaries.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Jessica
We believe the purpose of life is to become like our Heavenly Father. Our Heavenly Father is perfect, and He wants us to be perfect like Him. Unfortunately perfection doesn't happen in one day, which is why we are here on this Earth. We are here to learn how to be perfect through trial and error. Thankfully, Jesus Christ is here for us and not only gives us the all the second chances we need, but shows us how we can gain characteristics which lead to perfection. Show more Show less
