Hi I'm Nathan

I was born and raised in the Canadian prairies. I'm an artist, I'm a gamer, I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in the city, but moved to a small town when I was 6, and I've lived here ever since. I have a mum, a dad, and 3 younger siblings (two sisters and a brother) as well as my cousin who has been living with us for the past year or so. I've been drawing since I was a toddler. It's always come naturally to me, although it's still certainly taken a lot of practice, and even now I have a lot still to learn. But after many years of honing my artistic abilities, and picking up various skills in other areas such as videography, video editing, photography, music, and writing, it's become my goal to get into the field of animation, ideally in relation to game design. As well as art, I'm very passionate about video games (again, having been playing them since I was very young) and those two interests frequently coincide in the form of fanart, ranging from crayon drawings of my favourite characters when I was young to the online art blog I've been running for the past few years. I also love singing, theatre, and creating electronic music on my computer. Oh, and pepperoni pizza. That's not really related though.

Why I am a Mormon

I may have been raised in a Mormon home, but throughout my life I've gained my own personal understanding of the blessings that the Gospel can bring into my life. Living the Church standards and keeping God's commandments in this modern world is not easy, and yet in many ways, it is. Because I have chosen to incorporate my beliefs into my everyday actions and behavior, I have been able to completely avoid all kinds of uncomfortable and/or dangerous situations in my life. I've also been able to overcome difficult times in my life, including the loss of various relatives and even one of my friends, because I have a knowledge of God's plan of redemption for all of us, and I know that I can be reunited with my loved ones after death. I know that this church is the true Church of Jesus Christ I bear my testimony that it has been restored in modern times through the prophet Joseph Smith, and that by studying and living the teachings found in the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, I can be worthy to return to live with my Father in Heaven someday.

How I live my faith

I've attended regular church meetings every Sunday all my life. At the age of 8, I was baptized and became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Shortly after I turned 12, I was ordained to the office of deacon in the Aaronic Priesthood, and received the special responsibilities and authority associated with that office. At 14 and 16 I was ordained as a teacher and a priest respectively, and more responsibilities and authority were added to those I already had as a deacon. Now I'm an elder, and I've been called to serve as a full-time missionary in the West Indies, which means I'll be spending the two years in a foreign country, devoting all of my time and energy sharing the gospel and serving people.
