Hi I'm Daniel

I enjoy running, reading, spending time outdoors and with my family and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hello, my name is Daniel. I was born on February 17, 1997 in North Bay, Ontario. I have four sibling's, three sisters and one brother, of which I am the oldest. My Dad was in the military so my family traveled with his career. We have lived in Canada, The United States and Germany and have traveled to around 20 different countries. Right now my family live in Summerside, Prince Edward Island where my parents own a Bed and Breakfast. My entire life has been focused around my family, my church, and academics along with offshoots into music and athletics. I played Clarinet in my school band and also play Piano. I enjoy running long distance in track and cross country. My hobbies include reading, camping and spending time with my family and friends. I am currently serving as a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints and hope to upon my return study kinesiology at UPEI and eventual move into the medical field.

Why I am a Mormon

My journey of faith as a Mormon began as a child as my parents raised me in the LDS church. They taught me the basics of the gospel as I grew up, teaching me to love Christ, His Gospel and his scriptures. However, my faith would be unsustainable if it was dependent solely on the teachings of my parents. My faith grew as I followed the instructions of Alma in Alma 32 and exercised the the seed of faith that my parents had given me. Then I was able to compare the blessings in my life to those of the people around me and see the fruits and blessings that came from my obedience to God's commandments. My faith continued to grow as I watch the gospel of Jesus Christ bless my family. Eventually my testimony became unshakable as I followed the promise of Moroni, as stated in Moroni 10:3-5 and received the spiritual witness that that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith is God's Prophet. My testimony continues to strengthen as I continue to study the word of God and receive the spiritual witness that it is true. I am a Mormon not because of my parents, not because of my friend, not even because I know the Gospel has blessed my life. I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is true. My faith was planted by my parents, grew as I experimented on the words of Christ and brings forth fruit as I continue to obey the Commandments of God and receive the spiritual witness that the gospel of Jesus Chris is true. I know God loves me, that he loves all of his children and wants to bless them through the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so grateful to Jesus Christ, the Son of God for his sacrifice for me and for the world. I live my faith, every day strengthening my testimony and eternally grateful for the Blessings and life he has given me.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith everyday as I strive to be more Christ like and to understand his gospel better. I study my scriptures and pray to my Heavenly Father Daily. In my church back home I served by playing piano for several of my meetings, serving as a local missionary along with preparing lessons and talks. Now as a full time missionary I assist in Christ's kingdom by preaching his gospel full time and assisting in whatever capacity local leaders feel that I can best serve in the Lord's work. I live my faith through my example as I live church standards. I obstain from eating substances that are harmful and addictive to my body and take care of my body physically as I live the Word of Wisdom. I remain sexually pure as I follow the law of chastity. I keep free from Satan's influence as I follow the ten commandments. As I try to increase in charity I draw closer and closer to my Heavenly Father. My faith manifests itself in my actions day by day, week by week, year by year as I strive to "be perfect even as I, or your Father who is in heaven is perfect." (3 Nephi 12:48)
