Hi I'm Emilee Gessell

I'm from Pocatello, ID! Serving in the Greatest Ohio Cincinnati Mission! I enjoy serving, sharing the gospel, and LAUGHING!

About Me

I am Emilee Brooke Gessell! But right now, I'm called Sister Gessell because I am serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! I enjoy doing anything that is active. Like running, biking, walking, hiking, swimming, and volleyball! Family is so important to me! It always will come before anything else. I have two sisters, a brother, and two brother in laws! I also have the 4 cutest nieces and nephews in the world... And my parents are THE BEST! I plan to attend either BYU Idaho, or Idaho State University prior to my mission. I would like to study teaching, nursing, or cosmetology! It's a wide range, but I know that I will find something that I want to do! I love to laugh so much and I love making other people happy. I don't think jokes are funny, but I do think natural occurrences are hilarious! I am 6 foot tall, which rocks because I can't picture myself as a short person. Can you?

Why I am a Mormon

I'M A MORMON because it is the one and only true gospel of Jesus Christ! The gospel provides the chance for my family and I to be sealed for time and ALL ETERNITY! And that is the greatest gift of all. I would not like to imagine a life where I didn't know that I would be with my family forever even after death. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God! I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon by power given to Him from God. As I read the Book of Mormon, I have to ask myself, "Could any man have written this book?" And the answer is absolutely not! As I continue to read the Book of Mormon my faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement increases. The atonement of Jesus Christ offers me the gift of turning regret into peace. Because of the atonement we can access the fullness of repentance IN THIS LIFE. How cool is that? I have a testimony of a living prophet Thomas S. Monson who leads and guides this church! I have a testimony of faith. If we will fully rely on God and Jesus Christ there will never, ever be any trial we cannot overcome! I know that because of the Doctrine of Christ: Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving The Gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end, we can change everyday and become more like our Savior! I know that the true church is restored to the earth!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as a missionary for his church! I didn't always know that I wanted to serve a mission, but once I decided, I never had a negative feeling about it! I was baptized into the church when I was 8 years old. It has been a blessing to grow up in a family where religion is so important! I have had a few callings in the church. I served as a visiting teacher, a Laurel class president, a gospel principles teacher, and a full-time missionary currently! I live my faith by reading the Book of Mormon daily, praying to my Father in Heaven multiple times a day, serving his children, and finding the elect who are reading to hear the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ!
