Hi I'm Nicole

I grew up in Utah. I am a Certified Veterinary Technician and love my job. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have an interest in a variety of things. I love music! I love to sing, I play the piano, and recently I have started to learn guitar. I love listening to music, and even though I favor country music, I also listen to a broad range of different genres. I love being outside. Anything like hiking, biking, and camping, even just enjoying a sunny day. I love sports and worked in a sporting goods store for awhile. I did dance when I was younger, but for most of my life stuck with tumbling/gymnastics. I graduated from college with my degree that allowed me to get the career I have dreamed of! I get to work as a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). I love reading and watching movies. I'm a huge fan of Tangled!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church. Many people tell me that is the only reason I still attend. But honestly I am a very independent individual and I like to make my own choices. I made the decision to stay in this church because I did what Moroni 10:4 says. I prayed, and I asked sincerely to know if the Book of Mormon is true and if this church is true. The overwhelming feeling I got was an answer that it is the only fully restored church, and I can't deny that. Even when I go through a hard time or I get frustrated I know that I could never leave something that I absolutely know to be true. Is it always easy? Not even close. But as I like to tell people, life is hard, but what fun is an obstacle course without the obstacles?

How I live my faith

Honestly the number one thing I do to live what I believe is by doing service and helping others. I love, love, love to help others in any way I can. I make it a priority to go to church every week. I know that it helps me learn more about this church. I also love going to the temple, there is a special feeling of happiness and peace there. I get to attend institute, which is a class for young adults my age, where we get to meet and become friends with new people and learn more about the gospel in a really relaxed environment. I also read my scriptures and pray every day so that I can feel my Heavenly father's love for me, because I know I am following what he had asked for us to do.

What is being a Mormon like?

Nicole
What is it like? Hmmm... well it is my every day life! I think that religion should be something where you practice your beliefs 24/7, not just once a week or even once in a while. I think a good way to explain what it is like is to use some examples from my life. I work in a clinic where no one is part of my religion, but they all know I belong to the Mormon church because we have different lifestyles. For one, I don't drink coffee, so when they go on coffee runs they make sure to bring me a smoothie instead. Which I love smoothies, so it is fantastic!! I also do not swear, and they know that I appreciate them trying to keep their language clean. When finding activities to do, I always consider my standards. I don't go out partying in the "normal" sense, I spend a lot of time with friends watching movies (not rated R), playing games ranging anywhere from volleyball, basketball, or human foosball, to card or board games, bonfires with scary story telling, boating, bowling, and even twister. So even though to one person the word party may mean something different then it does to me... I still consider myself a party animal ;) I attend church on Sunday and have institute which is like a class but with religious topics. I go to different activities throughout the week just to spend time with friends and make new ones. I also do a lot of volunteer work, because I love to do service! I read a lot! I read my scriptures regularly and I love getting to read fiction books as well! Show more Show less
