Hi I'm Daniel

From Idaho, French mama, LDS mission Paris, France; Rick's College & BYU-I in Comm. US Navy Hospital Corpsman. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I had a French mom growing up, she passed away when I was 8 due to cancer. My father Remarried 6 months latter. I grew up right next to BYU-I campus, Served my mission in Paris, France. Graduated from Ricks College. I Got married last year, having my first child in one month, and I am back to College to further my education.

Why I am a Mormon

I cannot start my story without sharing my mother's conversion story as well. Once upon a time (1960)

How I live my faith

I am a councilor in Sunday School Youth. I am in charge of overseeing the lessons each Sunday. I make sure that there is a teacher every Saturday, and then on Sunday, if there's an emergency, or something comes up, I have already prepared the lesson in case one of the teachers cannot make it.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Daniel
The priesthood is a bargain, it is a power to serve. Women are technically born with this 'nurturing' capability. As an artist my latest drawing is different from my drawing vs. the drawing from when I was ten years old. As you create you learn and thus make your next 'creation' different from the first. What I am trying to explain is women can use their emotions to over ride their logic. Case in point, a baby falls into the river. The mama instinct is to jump up after that child, no thought, no question! She is saving that child like right now. However, man uses his logic to cut emotion, he see's the situation, makes a plan, and runs to the bridge with a rope and save both mama and child. The priesthood is a like a 'serving power' so that men can think of others, and serve them. Further more all the things that happen in "the Mormon" temple... Everyone is equal...get it? also, the Priesthood blessings, or services rendered are just that, services's to others. It does not give the man power, it gives man the responsibility to serve. To become a better steward. As for leading, the movie "my big fat Greek wedding" "the man is the head of the family, but the women is the neck, and she can turn the head, any way she wants." A man needs a woman in his life to become all that he can, and a woman needs a man to become all that she can. As for my house, there has never been a major change that affects the family in which mother was not involved. Co-companions Show more Show less
