Hi I'm Sarah

I serve as a full-time missionary in the Illinois Chicago West Mission. Before, I studied Political Science at BYU. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the youngest of 7 children, and my siblings are my best friends. Before my mission, I studied Political Science for a year at Brigham Young University. I love all things politics, especially political philosophy. My goal right now is to attend law school and study Constitutional Law. When I'm not studying politics, I enjoy listening to, playing, and dancing to music. I play the piano, the violin, and the guitar, and I love singing. I clog danced for 5 years and competed nationally. My favorite instrument is the guitar. I have written several songs and hope to someday record an album.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that He is the Son of God and that He came to earth to die so that I may repent. I am a Mormon because I want to be like Him. I also love my family very much. Through the gospel, our family relationships are strengthened. I know that we can be together forever if we have faith in Christ and strive to do all we can to follow Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by striving to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be the best I can be. Throughout the day, I pray to God in gratitude and ask for strength. I try to look for opportunities to help others. Every evening, I take time to read from the holy scriptures, such as the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Every week, on Sundays, I take a break from my normal activities to attend church meetings and worship God. I spend extra time on this day studying the words of the prophets and writing in my journal. I listen to sacred music and praise the Lord in song.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Sarah
All Mormons are not required to serve a mission. All who desire to, however are strongly encouraged to serve. Prophets have stressed that all young men, usually 18-19 years old, that are able should serve a mission. Many young women and senior couples also serve missions. Missions are completely voluntary and missionaries are not paid for their service. Many serve missions because they have felt the joy of the gospel in their lives and wish to share their knowledge with others. Show more Show less
