Hi I'm Keisha

I am a college student, an avid sports fan, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student with the hope of going into the medical field. My education is important to me because I want to be able to use it to help others. I am the youngest of three children and I love my family. Growing up, I've always loved sports. My family has always loved to play and watch sports together. Basketball is probably my favorite, but my true talent lies in softball and baseball. I also have a passion for watching movies as well as baking and eating chocolate (in moderation...sometimes...)

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a Mormon. I have always gone to church. My family has always been a part of this church. However, I am an adult now, so it has become my decision whether or not I continue to go to church. I'm a Mormon because I have been taught the teachings of Jesus Christ and I know they are true. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His true church on the Earth today. I know this because of the way I have seen the gospel bless my life. When I am obedient to the teachings of the church, I am a whole lot happier than when I try to do things my way. I have read the Book of Mormon, and I know it is the word of God. I know this because when I read it, I feel peace and comfort, and I can find guidance. The times when I have felt the closest to God are when I am consistently reading The Book of Mormon and saying my prayers. I have asked God through prayer if the Book of Mormon is true, and I have received an answer that it is. This gospel has brought so much joy into my life! Through it, I have come to know my savior, Jesus Christ, and that has helped me when the trials of mortality have tried to bring me down. I have a testimony that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and He and our Heavenly Father love me. We can have a personal relationship with them in this life, and we can live with them in the life to come if we follow the principles taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know that the true church with all of its authority has been restored to the Earth through the prophet, Joseph Smith, and I am so glad to be a part of it!

How I live my faith

I have been called to serve as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As part of this calling, I will be leaving my education, my home, my family, my friends, and many of my possessions behind to teach others about the Gospel of Jesus Christ for 18 months. I will be living in an unfamiliar country, learning a new language, and changing my schedule. I am doing all of this in order to more effectively teach people about our church and help them come closer to God with the hope that they will decide to be baptized. I will have the opportunity to teach lessons about what we believe in addition to performing service. It is also one of the responsibilities of my mission to help teach people about family history and how they can find their ancestors. I am incredibly excited!
