Hi I'm Karl

I'm a husband, proud father of 5 children and a civil engineer. Being a Mormon helps make work and family fun.

About Me

I have a wonderful wife and 5 children. I enjoy hunting, fly fishing, camping and family. We have lots of fun together. Our latest trip was to Durango, Colorado where we rode the train to Silverton during the autumn season. It was a blast. I'm a Civil Engineer with a current master's degree from Colorado State University. I love to garden. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has helped our family be together a lot and it will help our family be an eternal family (together forever).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my family and want to be with them in the life to come. This church teaches how our families can be together forever. I love my wife and family and know it wouldn't be fun if I couldn't be with them always. Families are forever.

How I live my faith

I'm in the Stake High Council. I'm assigned to help with Preach My Gospel, Seminary for youth and the Young Men's groups. I'm involved in a program in our stake organization to help prepare our youth and young single adults, ages 16 to 25, share the gospel with others. We use the manual Preach My Gospel where we let the youth role play by teaching 33 Gospel topics from the first four lessons. These topics range from God is our loving Heavenly Father, the Plan of Salvation, Families, Faith, Repentance, to Baptism. I love to pray to my Father-in-Heaven for help and guidance. He once helped me find a library book I had lost in third grade. He gives us help through the Holy Ghost. His guidance is real.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

A positive attitude and inner desire are necessary to build faith. My Grandpa would always tell us, "A song will left the clouds, even whistling a tune will help. Be happy in the things you do. Never let discouragement hold you back, for discouragement is the most dangerous feeling the mind can entertain." This is so true. Do you want to have your faith grow? Be happy; don't be discouraged. Prayer, with real intent, will lift any burdens and discouragement. This will help increase your faith in Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Jesus Christ is the true Son of God. Because our Father-in-Heaven loves us so much, he gave His only begotten Son to us. This makes Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer. He have Him to help us get back to our Father-in-Heaven. Jesus Christ died for us, paid for our sins, and broke the bonds of death by being resurrected. I love words that a past prophet gave to his sons. The prophet is Helaman. Here are his words: "And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall." (Helaman 5:12). I love Jesus Christ and our Father-in-Heaven and thank them for the opportunity to have Jesus Christ as my rock, a foundation that can't be taken from me. Show more Show less
