Hi I'm Thomas

I love thinking. I seek to understand. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning how to do unique things. My hobbies include diving, unicycling, doing tricks on the trampoline, solving Rubik's cubes and other puzzles, mathematics, making movies, reading and studying church doctrine, and playing piano. I love good music. I love trying to understand the world around me, both things seen and unseen. I also love the grandeur of creation, as expressed through great and powerful storms, the mountains I live by, or the luscious greenery that radiates life during the summertime. Recently, I was a student in high school. Some of my favorite classes were Calculus and Physics. I graduated from high school early in order to serve a mission in the Australia Brisbane Mission for two years. I will be taught how to speak Mandarin so I can spread the good news of the gospel to those who don't speak English. My twin brother is also serving a mission in Australia (Melbourne) and learning Mandarin. Following my mission, I plan to start college at Brigham Young University in 2017. And then I'll see what life has to offer from there! So far so good!

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was a child, I've always been with the church. I was born into a gospel-centered family and taught the values of the gospel all growing up. Because I chose to let these teachings enter my heart, I felt the confirmation from the Holy Ghost that they were true. I only let them enter my heart in the first place because I could sense they were true. And also, as one living in a family centered on the teachings of Christ, I could see the happiness and feel the love that naturally exists in such settings. I was raised in a happy home with my loving family. And this love will never end. The gospel is the one way we can find true, everlasting happiness in this life. I know this is true. And because I know this church is true, this church led by Christ Himself, I will follow all of the teachings because I know that I cannot fail if I follow God.

How I live my faith

I believe the important thing about living the gospel is to observe the teachings I have grown up with on every day of the week and not just Sunday. I do this by studying the Book of Mormon, the Bible, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price whenever I can. Also, I find that always being a disciple of Christ is an excellent way to live the gospel. And the best way to be a disciple, for me, is to do my best to mirror the actions and behavior of Christ. Trying to be kind and loving like Jesus and keeping his commandments is how I live my faith.
