Hi I'm Lindsey Gardner

I'm a Mormon. I know it, I live it, I love it!

About Me

Hey there! I am Lindsey, and I'm a Mormon! I am only in junior high school, and it is pretty tough where I go to school. The area is very ghetto, and there are only me and 4 other Mormons at my school. I struggle to choose the right and make wise decisions while at school, but knowing that if I follow what my heavenly father wants me to do, I can return to him. I love playing basketball with my dad and my 4 older sisters, since they have always played. Volleyball is a big sport in my family, too. I plan on going to BYU or BYU-I for college. Girls Camp is one of the best things in life, just saying.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony of which I know that the gospel is true. When one of my sisters left for her mission in South America, I have to admit, I felt alone. The rest of my sisters were married with kids and/or in college. I had my parents too, but it's different with sisters. So that was when I really started to say my own personal prayers every night and morning. I was really scared for that sister, because she was leaving the country and I wanted her to be ok. Her example to me made a really big impact on my life. She helped build the very foundation of my testimony. Then I started to actually ponder my prayers and actually mean what I say. 2 weeks after she left for the MTC, I was a first year in Girls Camp. There was when my testimony began. Girls Camp changed my life and many, many others. Girls Camp is a camp where you go to a camp that the church is in charge of. You are gone for a week, but only for the best week of you life each year. It is 1st through 6th years. You are not around any makeup, technology, or any drama of the real world. It is the time and place to meet real friends from our church and become really close with. I ENCOURAGE ALL TO GO!!! Anyways, going to girls camp every year so far has helped me gain my testimony even more. This year, I will be a 3rd year, so I am REALLY excited. There are also the scriptures!! The very BEST! From what I learned from my returned missionary sister, it that everyone receives revelations in their own sacred ways. Through dreams, while praying, or reading the scriptures. It is in your own way. These revelations can be things like when you know you can pass a certain quiz, or you know that your favorite team will win, or just knowing that the scriptures are true. I also have a testimony of knowing that we have prophets here today to lead and direct us to help us make the best decisions that we can. I have a testimony that I know this church is the true church!! In the name of Jesus Christ, amen!

How I live my faith

I go to church EVERY Sunday. I love going to church because it refreshes me and helps me start new each week. And I get to take the sacrament, which every time you take it, you get baptized and renewed from your mistakes, basically. I go to our youth activity every Tuesday. The activities we do aren't just sitting there and rejoicing to God. We don't do that. We play volleyball in the gym with beach balls, we have basketball games, boys between girls. We make fun crafts. We go water skiing and snow sledding. It's always fun when we go, with a spiritual thought along with it.
