Hi I'm Bryn !

Wyoming raised. I love baseball, art, and cooking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm on a mission in Lyon, France right now ! I eat baguettes and stop people on the street. It's fun. Outside of that, I'm not doing much for the moment, but I hope to return home some day and have some sort of occupation, probably. Baseball is my first love. Cooking is my second. I like statistics so I can keep track of how much time I've spent on statistics. My life is pretty swell. If I had to rate it on a scale of 1-10, yes. If we ever cross paths, say hello. I would, but I don't know what you look like.

Why I am a Mormon

Because sometimes being an angsty teenager gets boring. I kid, but that's pretty much why. My life hasn't been hard by any means, but I've lost people very dear to me. The greatest happiness I've ever found is telling others in the same situation that their friends, their parents, their children, they're all still there. No one ever really dies, and it's the message of life that is resonated throughout this Gospel that shakes me to my core. I know that Christ lives, so why practice religion as if he wasn't ? I know my friends are still out there, so why despair as if they weren't ? Deep down, everyone just wants to be happy. Happiness comes through the love we share, and naturally we become sad when the people we shared it with pass away. God loves us too much to let us break, though. He's given us his Gospel so we can know as sure as the sun that death has no hold on us. I know that Heavenly Father wants us to be happy. Anyone who doesn't believe it can ask him.

How I live my faith

For the moment, I'd say I'm not doing much else besides living it. Being on a mission is the greatest thing on Earth ! I came home after just four months, but I was able to get back out a year later and now here I am, sitting cozily in the south of France, telling you all about how thoroughly I enjoy my life. How grand. My job every day is to stop people on the street and tell them that I like them. Some people get all fuzzy inside when they hear that, and that just makes my day. If I could keep doing this for more than two years, I would. My biggest testimony of this Gospel comes from the power of missionay work. Everyone ought to do it ! And with my not-so-subtle invitation, I think that sums up my life.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Bryn !
Being a missionary myself, I'm probably somewhat-qualified to give my two cents. In short, if I didn't do it, who would ? There are too many people out here who are looking for a reason to hope — they want to know what happened to their best friend who just died, they want to know if they really matter, they want to feel like someone loves them. The Gospel gives us these reasons. I know that for a fact, because they are what I have been given. It's selfish of me to think that something that pulled me out from the darkest moments of my life is only worth keeping for myself. Other people need what I have, and I need what they have too. It's our job to help others find what they're looking for, and I intend to do all I can to see it through. Show more Show less
