Hi I'm Madeline Foote

I'm from small town Texas. I love learning, tennis, and basically anything outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently attending college in Utah and am studying mechanical engineering with a minor in music. I'm the oldest of four kids. My family loves camping and traveling together and they have taught me the value of handwork on our makeshift farm. I enjoy any place outside and I love nothing more than a warm day hiking in the mountains. I sing, play the piano, and am always up for an adventure. I have been called to serve in the Japan Nagoya mission, and will report on June 10, 2015.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this church for my whole life. While I have always attending my meetings, I have had to ask for myself is this church is true. If The Book of Mormon is true. When I was 16 I decided that it was time that I knew for myself that this was true. I wanted to know for myself if what I was doing was truly what God wanted me to be doing. So I got down on my knees and asked. While there was no opening of the heavens, I truly felt the love of the Lord around me and I knew that he had answered my prayer. I know that this church is true. I know that the Book of Mormon is truly the word of God and that He has sent it to us in this day to help us know between right and wrong, when the world is giving us so many different answers. I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ care about each of us individually and that they are never too busy to give us help when we ask with a sincere heart. I know that this gospel is the pathway to eternal life.

How I live my faith

Everything I do revolves around my love for my savior Jesus Christ. On Sunday that means attending church and worshipping alongside my friends and family. Throughout the week that means representing him through service and brotherly love. I use my scriptures, including both The Bible and the Book of Mormon, to keep me close to my Savior while I am not directly in a particular worship service. In my church, I am in charge of making sure a group of women are doing well and feel love and cared for. I love that this glorious gospel is so family centered. It not only brings us closer to our individual families, but it brings us each closer to each other, letting us rely on each other as we do our families. Additionally, I am in charge of visiting two particular women in our ward with another wonderful woman to make sure that they have all of their needs met. The warmth and comfort found through this gospel is truly amazing.
