Hi I'm Mikayla

Actor, adventurer, lover of life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Although I am from Utah, I've done a lot of moving. Probably the most exciting place I lived was China. That was where my love of the Chinese people and culture was fostered. Without China, I probably wouldn't be preparing to serve a mission, and I don't know how happy I'd be about my call to Taiwan Taipei mission. But now I want nothing else than to bring the truth to my Chinese brothers and sisters. I am currently a theatre major. Sometimes being in the theatre world and holding firm to the standards of this church can be tricky, but it is always doable with the right perspective.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many many reasons why I am a member of this church, but I think the one thing that always brings me back when I start to waiver is the joy this gospel brings me and the knowledge that this church is the same wherever you go. With all the curveballs life throws at you, this is the one thing that is always constant. I've been a member of the church my whole life, but I'm not just Mormon because I was raised to be Mormon, I'm Mormon because I have gained a testimony for myself through prayer, reading the scriptures, and many experiences in life. I don't feel like I had one being "Ah-Ha!" moment where all the stars aligned and I knew the church was true, but rather bit by bit I'd have little "Ah-Ha!" moments about aspects of the gospel. A lot of this happened when I was a kid without me even realizing, and then were later reconfirmed as I got older and was really trying to decide if this church was for me. I continue my life in this church because of the direction it gives me. I would honestly be so lost without it. I feel like everyone needs some sort of guiding force in life, and this is mine. My desire to live a good life, and make it back to my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

As a teenager growing up, I was involved in church youth programs, and was a leader for many of them. I am now preparing to serve a year and a half mission in Taiwan Taipei, where I will teach the gospel and provide service for the people of Taiwan.
