Hi I'm Giulia

I am Italian, I am 22 and I am in love with books! I am currently serving my mission in Temple Square, Salt Lake City.

About Me

I was born in Palermo, Sicily, I always like to say that it is the best part of Italy (and it truly is!). I love reading books, I started reading when I was 3 ½ years old and never stopped since then! I LOVE Oscar Wilde, Jane Austen, Kafka, Virginia Woolf and so many other writers. I love writing, mostly short horror/thriller short stories (I am not a weirdo, I promise) and I love watching movies as well. I am a huge fan of Asian stuff, Japan and South Korea are my favorite countries. I am serving a mission in the best mission of the world: Temple Square. I started in June 2015 and I will be done at the end of November 2016.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I found happiness in The Book of Mormon. I don't know what my life would be like without this book, without God in my life. My parents joined the church when I was too young to understand the choice they made. I grew up in the church and had friends there, but that wasn't enough to be converted. I've always tried to obey but without real intent; I knew the principles taught in the scriptures were kind of right, but I never really looked for a testimony. I relied on my parents' testimonies. There was a time in my life when I wanted to find out the truth. I started looking for my own testimony. It wasn't easy and I am still learning and strengthening it, but I know now that if we ask: we WILL RECEIVE. The Lord will enlighten our minds and we will know the truth of all things, eventually. Now I have a testimony that I really treasure, like a mom treasures her little child. Everything has a meaning. I know that I have a Father in Heaven that loves me even when nobody does, even when I don't. I know that this life was given to us so that we could grow and go back to our Heavenly Father one day. I know that the family I have now, the family I love so much, can be with me for all eternity and this is the greatest blessing of all.

How I live my faith

I've been attending the church since I was 2-3 years old and I don't regret a single Sunday spent in my beautiful church instead of anywhere else. It's not easy to always do the right thing, it can be really, really difficult sometimes.. but the Lord, my family and the members of the church have always been by my side and helped me facing these challenges. Being a member of the church doesn't mean that I go to church on Sunday and that's all. I need to live what Jesus has taught every single day of my life. I do it by reading my scriptures and growing in my knowledge, testimony and love of my Savior; I do it by trying to be nice to people, by accepting my weaknesses and working on overcoming them. I live my faith by relying every single day on God's grace and Christ's atoning sacrifice. My mind and heart are at peace right now. "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you." John 14:27
