Hi I'm Mercedes

Once, I pet a giraffe. I love the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

On a basic level, I'm a student in between schools, I've been LDS my whole life, I don't really have a place where I'm "from" because I've never lived in any one place for very long, and I have a very ADHD personality, and I like that about myself. I love reading and writing--I think stories and speeches are some of the most powerful things we have on this Earth. I like exercise, but not sports because I have a profound fear of projectile objects and of injury. In general, I'm actually pretty anti-social, but I still love people. It's difficult and confusing, but I think the two traits give me a nice balance between solitude and companionship. I love my testimony. It has proven itself to be my most valuable asset. As long as I know my Heavenly Father is there, and that His commandments are true, nothing can actually be that bad.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon, and have stayed a Mormon because of the sweet, comforting blessings of knowledge and direction that this religion has offered me all my life. It has kept me safe from the pains of living an immoral life. As I have grown and taken leaps of faith and trusted God, I have felt the guidance of the Holy Ghost and the all-encompassing warmth of the love of my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I'm currently called to serve as a ward missionary for my YSA ward with a focus on media, which is why I'm setting my mormon.org account up, actually. I'm so excited to be in this calling. I feel like a racer who has just been released from the starting line with the shot of a pistol. I feel prepared and blessed to be in this position and to have this opportunity to serve and share my testimony with my fellowmen.
