Hi I'm Win

I was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have helped feed thousands of starving children around the world.

About Me

I have always loved to cook, so during my college days when I was introduced to Food Science, it lead me to my career. Our 8 children have often wondered what new culinary experiment they would be asked to try. I enjoy creating various projects in my wood shop, especially for our grandchildren, neighbors and friends. The outdoors with trails to hike, streams to fish, meadows to enjoy and powdered snow to explore on snow shoes, has always had a powerful attraction. Sharing natures beauty with my family is very special.

Why I am a Mormon

From my earliest memory I have been an active Latter Day Saint. It is true that my parents had me join them as they attended Church meetings when I was young. They often shared with me their conviction to the teachings of the Church. One day, as a teenager, while fishing on my favorite fishing stream, I had a desire to gain a similar conviction for myself. Prayer had often opened a door for me to get answers. I turned away from the stream to climb the hillside behind me. Half way up the hill I came to a spot that would be private so my prayer would not be disturbed. My simple prayer was to have a Heavenly confirmation of the strong assurance similar to my parents. After closing my prayer I took a few minutes to ponder and went back to the stream. I did not have an immediate response to my prayer but over the weeks that followed a variety of experiences helped me realize that my prayer was being answered little by little. To this day, that prayer on the hillside has been a foundation for my belief. A personal conviction that started with good parents and my own willingness to ask.

How I live my faith

Life can be very busy but it has always been important to me to find a way to serve others. I team teach a class with my wife. This has been a wonderful experience where we can plan and prepare lessons together. We have different teaching styles but they compliment our teaching as we share the important gospel concepts with our class members. We both enjoy this service together.
