Hi I'm Mikaela

I am a missionary. I am apparently funny. I love the outdoors. I love movies. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was always running around and being that crazy little girl who never sat still or listened in Sunday School. I have grown up living the values of the Church, but never taking them to heart. I never enjoy church or reading or even praying to our Heavenly Father. That all changed when I was figuratively pushed against a wall of faith. I had to decide whether to start acting on the things that I have been taught or continue going through life ignorant and in a mental, emotional, and spiritual haze. I took action. I decided to serve a mission for the church. To invite others to come unto Christ. I began to read the Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible. I began to pray and act sincerely on the answers that I received. I still don't know everything. But I do know that the church is true. God and Christ love us. I know that following Christ and his teachings leads to true and eternal happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I took Moroni's challenge (Book of Mormon, pg 529, Moroni 10:3-5). I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true. I asked God, the source of all truth, if it was true. I received an answer that it it true. I saw the good that comes from living the gospel of Christ. I saw the good fruits that come from it, like Christ said, "by their fruits ye shall know them". It's true. I know it and I would challenge anyone who wants to know if it is true, to put Moroni's challenge to the test. What is the worst that could happen? I promise that good things come from Christ and The Book of Mormon is good. It changed my life for the better. I know it can change yours.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving a mission. I have been called by God to bring happiness and the truth of the Gospel to others. I live my faith by being an example and serving others.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

“We do not worship [Joseph Smith] the Prophet. We worship God our Eternal Father and the risen Lord Jesus Christ. But we acknowledge the Prophet; we proclaim him; we respect him; we reverence him as an instrument in the hands of the Almighty in restoring to the earth the ancient truths of the divine gospel, together with the priesthood through which the authority of God is exercised in the affairs of His Church and for the blessing of His people” (Gordon B. Hinckley, “Joseph Smith Jr.—Prophet of God, Mighty Servant,” Ensign, Dec 2005, 2–6). Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

We believe that there is a prophet on the Earth today. He is like Moses in some ways. He receives revelation from God on how to help the people of the Earth, not just the church. He has been called by God to help the people of the world live happier and reach their fullest potential. Moses was also called by God to help the people of his time live happier. Show more Show less
