Hi I'm Lorin

I grew up on a farm in Utah. I am a retired aerospace engineer/program manager. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of 6 children and a grandfather of 13 grandchildren. My interests are gardening, technology and golf. I love to play golf especially with my family. I am recently retired, after 40 years, from a career in the aerospace industry. I have a degree in electrical engineering but have spend most of my career managing the design, fabrication and test of infrared optical instruments for space. I served on an irrigation company as the watermaster maintaining the water schedules and spent the last five years as a member of our cities planning commission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am part of a family that have been members of the LDS church for several generations and I am acquainted somewhat with my ancestors stories, their faith and conversion to the Mormon church. Like them I have come to know for myself through study, prayer and life experiences that this is Christ's church. One of our church leaders recently said "Keeping divine commandments brings blessings every time! Breaking divine commandments brings a loss of blessings every time!" I know that by personal experience that that statement is true and that when you live a commandment you come to know that they are true. I feel so fortunate to have a knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has been such a blessing in my life.

How I live my faith

I believe it is important to become involved in the in giving back to the community that I live in and so I have supported one of our local irrigation company by maintaining all the water user schedules over a period of about 30 years. I also spent the past 5 years as a member of our city's planning commission. In addition I have had the opportunity to serve in several different callings in our church. I have been the financial clerk and have also worked in the Scouting and Cub Scouting programs. I have held leadership roles in our church as well, all of which, have given me many opportunities to serve others.
