Hi I'm Hannah

I'm from Minnesota. I'm a cancer survivor. I love the gospel with all my heart. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Hannah! I'm a 22 year old young lady who is just trying to make her way in the world. I currently work as a Habilitative Intervention therapist for mentally challenged children, and I absolutely love it. I help them build skills in the home and community as well as decrease maladaptive behavior. I love reading, the outdoors, music, cooking, and so many other things. I grew up in Minnesota, but moved to Idaho to finish my college education and here I have stayed! I love where I live, my job, my friends, and my church congregation, but I have decided to to serve a full-time mission for the church and will soon be serving in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission! I am so excited for this opportunity to serve the Lord and I know it will bring me so much joy for the rest of my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was eight years old, which is the earliest age at which one can be baptized in the church. I remember sitting down with my parents and talking about my decision to be baptized. They told me it was my decision, and that I had to feel that it was the right thing for me to do. I had been taught the words of John3:5, which says, "...Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." I had also been taught that even Christ himself, being without sin, was baptized in order to "fulfill all righteousness" (Matthew 3:15). I knew that baptism was essential to be cleansed of my sins and for progression in God's kingdom, and I knew that was what I wanted. I have never regretted my decision. Through fervent prayer and study, I have come to know for myself by the testifying power of the Holy Ghost that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contains the fullness of the gospel, and it is all true. I know that Heavenly Father loves us so much that he has provided prophets once again upon the earth to teach and guide us in the ways God wants us to know and do. I know the scriptures, including The Book of Mormon, to be the word of God. I know that families can be together forever as we make essential covenants with God and live His gospel. I know He does not leave us in darkness, and we can call upon him in prayer to know for ourselves His will for us. Most of all, I know that He loves us, and I love Him with all that I am. I owe everything to Him, and can never offer enough thanks for the tender mercies and blessings He gives me every day. I also know that for as much as we might believe in Him, He believes in us so much more, and He wants us to make it home to live with him for eternity. This knowledge means everything to me, and it is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is basically... just how I live. I strive to live by the scripture in the Book of Mormon which says, "Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever." (Alma 37:36) Attending church, daily prayer and scripture study, service, and keeping the commandments as I remember the Lord each day are important ways in which I live my faith. I also serve in a calling as the Music Chairman in my local congregation, meaning that I plan and carry out musical responsibilities in our Sunday meetings. I absolutely love my calling! I also love participating in church activities in my single's ward (a congregation made up of 18-30 year old singles) such as game nights, service projects, volleyball, and dances. I also attend LDS Institute classes in which we study the scriptures and gospel teachings, for example, this semester I am in a class where we learn about the parables of Jesus. Now I am preparing to serve a full-time mission for the church in the Nevada Las Vegas mission!
