Hi I'm Maelyn

I live in Utah and love to play basketball, run, and draw. I am left handed and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am in Junior High School and absolutely love to play basketball. I play basketball with my brothers and sisters. I am on a basketball team and love it. I especially love BYU basketball. I also love to run. I run on my school's track team. I'm left-handed! I take pride in that every second of my life. I enjoy music. I play the piano and trumpet. I sing and listen to lots of music; especially BYU's Vocal Point. My family and I often sing songs around our piano. I love to spend time with my family. I am the second youngest of eight kids and love spending time and being active with all of my family members. I like playing with my nephews and nieces. We love playing games, talking, going on hikes, sports, and just being with each other. I have two brothers on missions. They are a great example to me and I love them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the feeling that I have. Whenever I read the Book of Mormon or pray to Heavenly Father, I can feel his love for me. I know that he is there listening to me and is helping me with what I need. I was baptized when I was eight and am a witness of the Holy Ghost. I feel him every day as I strive to be a missionary and reach out to others. He guides me to where I need to be at the time that I need to be there. I love knowing that I have a father in Heaven who loves and watches over me. I know that he knows and loves everyone no matter their color, race, belief, or the sins that they have made. I know that our savior, Jesus Christ, died that we might live again. He paid for my sins and transgressions so that I can repent and live with him again. I know that no one is perfect and that Jesus Christ has helped me repent of the mistakes that I have made. He is with me every step of the way. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and am grateful for the restored gospel on this earth. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is God's prophet on the earth today. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know it, I live it, I love it.

How I live my faith

I love my ward. I was called to be a leader in working on family history with the youth in our ward. I have been working on my grandma's personal history in typing it up. It is a long process, but I love it. Our youth also go on youth temple trips where every month we pick a day to go to the temple and do baptisms for the dead. I am also apart of our ward choir. I have accompanied songs and have also sang. It is always fun to be able to feel the spirit and share the gospel through singing and music.
