Hi I'm Jan James

I am an artist, wife, mother and "Grami". I taught art at the University of Utah, Westminster etc....and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love my life. I love this beautiful world we live in and being outside exploring it. Walking, running, swimming, biking, riding horses, canyoneering, flying, diving, snorkeling, snowmobiling, skiing, waterskiing, trekking, photographing and painting are all great ways of seeing, smelling and feeling this wonderful world.

Why I am a Mormon

Second Nephi 2;25," Men are that they might have joy" and Luke 2;10, "And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people"are two of my favorite scriptures. These scriptures describe the religion and God that I believe in. I believe in a religion that teaches the value of the entire human family. I believe in a loving Heavenly Father who values each of us and our individuality. I believe that we must decide what we value and believe, then live accordingly in order to have peace and joy. It is when we go against the things we value and believe that we suffer. I have found that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches and practices those things I have come to believe. Being a Mormon really makes me and my family happy.

How I live my faith

I have always been interested and involved in politics and was a delegate this year. I really believe that it is important to participate and I appreciate that the LDS Church doesn't align itself with any political party. The Mormon church encourages me to vote according to my own values and beliefs. At this time I am a service missionary in my community. I love working with people and have come to make some wonderful friendships.
