Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in an army family. I am a firefighter. I am a husband, a father, a veteran, a paddle boarding paramedic. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a Catholic family and am the only LDS member in my family. My parents were very supportive of my conversion, but as of yet have not had a desire to learn more about our faith. I grew up in an army family and eventually joined the army reserve myself, first as an Infantryman, then later as field medic. I have served a tour of duty in Afghanistan as a medic and relied heavily on the Gospel and the Church for spiritual support both during and following my time there. I am also trained as a firefighter and a paramedic, working full-time in an ambulance. I love to get out an be active when the weather cooperates. I like snowboarding, paddle boarding, hiking, biking, and camping.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because someone had the courage to invite me to learn about the Book of Mormon and Temples. I had beliefs that were not consistent with the teachings of my previous religion but were very close to the principles of the LDS church without knowing it. Because someone cared enough to share what they knew to be true, my life changed forever. I can look back now and attribute the vast majority of my happiness in the past 14 years has been a direct result of my decision to be baptized and become a member of this Church. I know that my Heavenly Father lives. I know that his son Jesus Christ walked upon the Earth, atoned for all of our sins, and is seated at the right-hand of the Father. I know that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and through the power of the Holy Ghost was able to translate the Book of Mormon. I know that through him the true priesthood and apostolic organization of Christ's church were restored. I know that I am happier for serving within the Church and will be able to associate with my family and loved ones for eternity.

How I live my faith

I am currently both the Branch Mission Leader and a Councillor in the Young Men's organization within our church unit. As a mission leader, I am privileged to work closely with the full-time and branch missionaries to spread the Gospel. My calling as a Young Men's councillor allows me to work closely with the youth, teaching lessons and preparing activities. I live my faith to the fullest extent possible, knowing that I will make mistakes along the way.
