Hi I'm Amber Mather

I grew up in a beautiful little town in Colorado. I went to BYU. I am now serving a mission in Cochabamba Bolivia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love nature! Running, hiking, biking, snowboarding and playing sports outdoors keeps me going and helps me to see the beauty of the world around me. I helped my family start a garden (no small feat in Colorado) which they are able to enjoy each year. My other hobbies include ceramics, painting, drawing, reading, laughing, spending time with my family and friends, learning, photography, singing and cooking. I went to BYU for a semester of college (where I was still figuring out my life and what I wanted to do with it) and I am now serving a mission in Cochabamba Bolivia for a year and a half. It's a scary thing to leave behind my hometown, family and friends for that long, but I know that through the Lord I am made strong. The Lord has given me so much: my life, my family, happiness, joy, love... EVERYTHING! How can I not give all that I can back to Him?

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in the church but the reason why I'm a Mormon (not just that my parents are Mormon) is because of the difference I see in my life when I truly live the gospel. When I am reading my scriptures and listening to the prophets and living as a Mormon, I am happier and am more myself and I know who I am. Whereas, when I'm not fully living the gospel, I can feel and see the difference. I still have hard times either way, but when I live as a Mormon I feel the help that the Savior provides me and it is easier to get through hard times and to enjoy the good times as well.

How I live my faith

I'm am living my faith everyday through gratitude and love. Knowing what the Lord has given me and blessed me which gives me a rooted perspective on where I'm going and gives me joy in knowing how blessed I am. Now, I am able to see the Lord in every sunset, in every smile, in every prayer answered, and in all things around me. In thinking of and writing down my blessings, I can see how my Heavenly Father not only wants me to live, but to live, laugh, love, and have joy in the journey. Through the love that I feel from my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ, I have a stronger desire to live how they would want me to live and to love others just as much as they would. They love every single person on earth; sometimes they don't love our choices, but they love you and me unfailingly. I can't help but want to share that love with everyone I meet and with the people of Bolivia where the Prophet has called me to be.
