Hi I'm Jessica Orr

I grew up in Utah. I served a mission in South Carolina. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jessica. I am the oldest of four kids. When I was eleven, my dad was killed in the line of duty. It is a hard thing to endure, but it has brought me closer to my Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. I served a mission in the great state of South Carolina. My heart still belongs to the South! I had to come home a bit early due to unexplained medical reasons. After a process, I was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia. It hasn't been easy! But that is life. In the mean time, I am going to start working in the Vernal Temple. This fall, I will attend school out at UVU. I am also the Treasurer in the Utah chapter of C.O.P.S. (Concerns Of Police Survivors)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I want to be. I know, that this Church is true. I know that we are all children of God, that He loves all of us, and He knows us all by name. I know that because of God's Son, Jesus Christ, families can, and will be, forever. I know that Jesus Christ paid the price for us, that when we sin if we truly repent, we will be forgivin. I know that the atonement of Christ not only covers sin, but also pain and sorrow. Christ knows exactly how you feel, He will comfort you in whatever it is in your life. I know, that the Book of Mormon and the Bible, as far as it is translated correctly, are the word of God. I know, this is the only 100% true Church on the earth today.

How I live my faith

My senior year of High School, I represented my Stake as a Seminary council member. I helped pick a theme, make videos, plan missionary week, plan Seminary "General" Conference among many other things in helping make Seminary a memorable experience for the 600+ 10-12 grade students. Before I left for the mission, I taught the 3-4 year old kids. Now, I try my best to always live the way I know my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ would want me to live. I make mistakes, but I know that we are able to be forgiven.
