Hi I'm Esteban Espinoza

I'm from Ecuador, I love downhill mountain-biking, I'm currently serving a mission in Salt Lake City, and YES! I'm a mormon

About Me

I've got a younger brother whom I could call my best friend, my parents are amazing and I love them so much!! I'm currently serving as a missionary in the Utah Salt Lake City South Mission. My purpose is to invite EVERYONE to come unto Christ. My mission experience has taught me humility and love for my Heavenly Father (God) as well as for the people that we serve as representatives of Christ. My knowledge of this Gospel has increased through study of the scriptures and prayer, and because of that I strive to be better every day. I play soccer, tennis, I love swimming, I also enjoy extreme sports! I love music and hanging out with friends. I'm definitely an outdoors person. I'm 20 years old and love this gospel because it has saved me and has brought me so much happiness to my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member because I received my answer, God answered my prayer through the spirit. I felt it and I can't deny it. This gospel has done so much for me, my family and people all over the world. It helps me to know that my Father in Heaven loves me, and that he has a plan for me; "A Plan of Happiness", not just happines that will last for this life, but an everlasting joy.

How I live my faith

Before my mission I had my struggles, I think we all do. I wasn't living the gospel as I should have. It was hard for me to recognize that God was there. My faith started to decrease. While going to seminary classes (not because I wanted to but because my friend use to take me there), I had an amazing experience that changed my life, my teacher was talking about the love and compassion that Jesus has for each one of us, and that because of his sacrifice everyone, myself included, were able to find forgiveness. She taught that Jesus Christ came down to this world to lift us all up. That night I knelt down and asked God if he was there and if he would forgive me for the dumb stuff I had done. I didn't get my answer right away, but I decided to keep on trying because I knew that God was listening and I was willing to show Him that I love Him and that I was truly sorry for my past mistakes. After all my prayers I didn't really get that warm feeling that people talk about all the time so I decided to sacrifice something else, I decided that I should fast, I was seeking for my spiritual experience and I was not gonna back down. After I had finished my fast I knelt down and prayed, and asked God if this Gospel was true, and then I felt it, I can't really describe that feeling I got, but I know it was an answer from my Heavenly Father. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true, I got my answer, and I know that I've been forgiven for all the things that I've done. I still have mistakes, but I know that Jesus Christ will be there when I need Him. I live my faith by sharing this gospel, I live my faith by showing our Heavenly Father that I love him.

What is the First Vision?

Esteban Espinoza
After a lot of confusion a young men, Joseph Smith, wondered why there was a lot of confusion and contention on the earth whenever someone would talk about God. After asking the local preachers, asking his family, he decided to go to the scriptures. He read James 1:5. Then he went to a grove of trees to pray and ask our loving Heavenly Father which church is true? Joseph knew he couldn't really trust the people around him, but he knew that he could trust in God. He (as all of us could get one) received an answer, he saw God the Eternal Father and his beloved son Jesus Christ who gave him the instruction to join non of the churches "for they were all wrong". Joseph was commanded to restore the Church of Jesus Christ, the same Church that Jesus Christ himself established when he was on this earth. We know that God still speaks to us and he will always do, Answers will come for those who are willing to ask with faith, without fear nor doubt, as Joseph Smith did. Show more Show less
