Hi I'm Tyler

I grew up in Tennessee. I am a BYU-Idaho student. I am serving in the Chile Santiago South mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite things to do involve being outdoors. I love to fish, and to play sports with my friends. I played baseball growing up and football in high school. I was able to receive my Eagle Scout Award in the Boy Scouts when I was 16. Now I am a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho, as of now I am planning to become a dentist, after I serve my mission to Santiago, Chile.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know without a doubt that this gospel is the way to true happiness. I grew up in the church always believed in it and knew I should serve a mission. Preparing for my mission has been one of the hardest but most affirming things I have been through. I can testify that God really does hear our prayers and he will always be there to strengthen us when we call for him. He has answered my prayers to go on a mission.

How I live my faith

At BYU-I my calling through my ward was a Family home evening group leader. Through this calling I was able to organize activities for people in my ward and I to have a fun evening with a spiritual thought. I live my faith by dedication throughout all my trials, knowing that God will strengthen me.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Tyler
I can testify there is a God in two ways, a spiritual way and a logical way. Some might denounce the logic of God, but to me, God logically makes sense. What other than God set all the tiny particles into motion to form this earth and our bodies. Lets say for a second that all of the combinations of molecules are random, then how do we become alive? What is it that sets in motion the spark sending the impulses through our body that makes our hearts pump if it wasn't for the power of God. A more powerful way to know God is a spiritual one, PRAY!! The scriptures tell us in 3rd Nephi 27:29 "Therefore, ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; for he that asketh, receiveth; and unto him that knocketh, it shall be opened" and it is also said in luke 11:9, if you have a question, a doubt, or a fear, go to the Lord in sincere prayer and you will receive your answer through through the warm, peaceful, and joyous feelings that come from the spirit of God. I have a personal testimony that prayer works and God is real. He has answered my prayers so many times that even throughout the hard, and what feels like hopeless times in my life that I am loved by Our Father in Heaven who is watching over us at all times.
