Hi I'm Brenton

I grew up and live in Utah. I volunteer for many different organizations. And I am a Mormon!!!

About Me

I am Brenton. I love to do any sport, and have joined many sport teams throughout my lifetime. Currently the sports I focus on are snowboarding, and Olympic weightlifting. Very recently in Olympic weightlifting I won state championships, and got 2nd place in the national division. I also yoyo quite well, and I have four different types of yoyos that I can use. I know Spanish well, even though my main language of choice is English. I have completed some college level schooling, and I am very few credits away from my associates. I want to have an MBA, and minor in English or another fun subject. I also write eccentric poems, and one of them has been published. Hopefully many more to come!

Why I am a Mormon

I have always struggled with faith, just as many that are Mormon. Some things never made sense to me. But it seemed like I would always show up to church with a smile. At a time I was bullied from people I saw at church every week. This infuriated me so much so that I quit, and took my own path. I began to study other religions, and went to many other churches. All of them seemed so different from the LDS church, which is why I was intrigued. They all had their up and downs, their confusing questions, fellowship, and so on. But as this was going on my father had to relocate us because of his military mobilization. After the move I began to go to church again, and truly felt the spirit. I continued to go and enjoyed my time there. Even though I had struggles I always knew that God was real and was there for me, that the holy spirit is real, and that Joseph Smith organized our church. All I had to do was realize that we will all have problems, it can be with people or ourselves. But those problems can be overcome and will make you stronger as a person. With God on your side all is possible, but we must learn how to reach out to him and find answers for ourselves.

How I live my faith

I serve in the scouting program(program sponsored by the church, teaches young kids outdoor and leadership skills) as a Jr. patrol leader, and I love teaching them from the scouting manual/outdoor activities. I am a primary teacher for the church( a teacher that helps kids understand more about the church), and I teach 10-12 year olds about the gospel to the best of my knowledge. I try to volunteer regularly at the Road House(A location dedicated to helping the poverty in Utah), or any other thing I can find to help someone/multiple people in need.. I have an awesome companion for home teaching(Men from the church talk with assigned neighbors to strengthen, help, and teach them) and we try to go at least once a month. With other young members I have helped planned dances, and fun activities for young members to enjoy.
