Hi I'm Jared

I was born an raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.

About Me

I am currently a senior in college majoring in finance. I love to play sports and do any type of outdoor activity. My cultural or ethnic background is Korean, Japanese, and Indian along with influences of Fijian and Hawaiian added to the mix. I therefore love food. Trying new foods and experiencing other cultures is a hobby of mine.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be. Before becoming a missionary I had an experience that confirmed to me that Heavenly Father exists and is there for us always. Growing up I was 50/50 on whether I wanted to become a missionary and serve for two years. I did as anyone would do when they want to find an answer, ask. I asked Heavenly Father in prayer to help me receive confirmation of whether I should go be a missionary. For me, this was my time to know for sure that He was listening to my prayer. I knew that the answer wouldn't come easy, so I continued to go to church, pray, and read the scriptures. I was reading in the Doctrine and Covenants, which is another book with revelations from God to the prophet Joseph Smith, section 84 verse 88: "And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up." After reading I had received my answer. I had strongly felt His Spirit in my heart and decided then to be a missionary to share my experience. I had the desire to teach others on how they can feel His Spirit by living His restored gospel taught in the scriptures. Which is confirmed to us through the Book of Mormon. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and the guidance it brings to my life. I know it and strive to live it. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My Mother and Father are both Mormon and so I was born and raised a Mormon. I also chose to be a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was sent to Seoul, Korea. After the missionary life I continued to live my faith by teaching the youth in the church the stories and teachings in the scriptures. I also assisted missionaries in my hometown in teaching others about the Mormon faith. I strive to live my faith because at this time in my life of school, work, worry of future career, marriage and what not, I am still able to be focused on my goals and ultimately be happy.
