Hi I'm Floyd Baum

I am a retired construction manager. My hobbies are family history and gardening and fishing when I have time. And, I am a Mormon

About Me

As a child I was taught true principles that would keep me out of trouble. My mother joined the Mormon Church when I was 6 years old. I grew up in Northern California and was a pretty normal teenager, until one Sunday afternoon when I lost control of my vehicle and left the highway. I decided to make some changes in my life and soon thereafter I was called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I served in Central America, Panama and Venezuela. That decision to accept the call to serve a mission has made all the difference in the world to me. Upon returning I met the girl of my dreams and we have found more joy and happiness through following Jesus Christ in our lives than we had ever expected.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found that following the council of living prophets, reading and studying the scriptures and attending Church gives me the answers to those difficult questions regarding life. I know that Heavenly Father knows each of his children. He knows me. He loved all of us so much that he gave his Son, Jesus Christ to teach us a more excellent way. When confronted one time about what I believe, a person said, "The problem with your church is it gives you answers to everything." Somehow, I think that true religion does that for everyone.

How I live my faith

I have tried to live the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and fulfill callings in the church when they were given. I have served as a bishop and my wife and I served an 18 month mission to Galapagos. We are currently serving a mission to help others enjoy the same blessing that we have received.
