Hi I'm Collin

I'm an avid skier and a history buff from Utah. I'm excited to serve a Mission to Brazil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of three children. I live in Utah. I'm a college student at Weber State University, but right now I'm taking a break from that to serve an LDS Mission to Natal Brazil. I'll be leaving in a few months. Some of my favorite hobbies are reading - especially history related material, listening to music - I'm a big fan of progressive rock, and simply being with family and friends. I also like to travel with my family, I especially like visiting wilderness places like Yellowstone National Park. I'm an avid skier and I like the winter season.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my whole life, so until I was a teenager, I never really asked questions about my faith or wondered about other faiths. I once asked myself, "why are you a mormon?" What would I say to someone who asked me that? I soon discovered that I am a Mormon because I simply know it is true. I've never had a vision, or a revelation, or even had a particularly striking spiritual prompting. But the spirit is always there for me, it always has been. I just know that God and his son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, as well as many other spirits watch over me every day. Whenever I find something that confuses me or may seem strange at first, I simply believe that God knows what he is doing, and everything will work out for the best. Some would call that narrow-minded. I call it faith in God. I love Jesus and Heavenly Father, and I know they love me. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping the standards, the "basics". I've always felt it's doing the small things that keep us on the right path. I read my scriptures, attend church, I just do what the Lord has asked us. I do this in and out of church, and I never participate in something that I feel will degrade my faith. I participate in good activities and I work hard at church with the tasks I am given. I don't have a specific calling right now, but I have often helped teach lessons to different classes. For the next two years, I will be serving the Lord on a mission to Brazil.
