Hi I'm Ashley

I grew up in Utah. I couldn't love anything more than the gospel and my Savior.

About Me

I belong to five distinct, yet intermingled every comic con, fandoms (SuperWhoLock+ Lord of the Rings+ Disney). I play the piano and have been teaching for the last 3 years. I also happen to be an artist and have taught it also for the past few years. I have graduated from a local high school and attended the closest university for one semester. I have plans to attend a new university across the country after I serve an LDS mission. I'm a big reader, mostly of fiction because everything else strikes me as a little boring. I read books and I collect the ones I really like, want to share with people, or just can't find locally. I love attending the temple and attending ones in different places because it's like comparing castles while partaking of the blessings of the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member because Jesus Christ's gospel has blessed my family and me beyond what I may deserve. The priesthood has fulfilled my family's needs multiple times and the atonement has made my family's happiness possible. I know that the church is true. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that our Heavenly Father has a plan for each and every one of us. I know that Savior is our advocate and our brother. Because of Him, we are never alone.

How I live my faith

Currently, my largest act of faith is departing on a mission. I've been called to serve and I look forward to it wholeheartedly! I have served in my ward in many youth positions, and more recently as Relief Society Chorister with substituting on the side. I've played the piano for the Relief Society and have been approached about playing the organ as a substitute, but it has yet to happen (I'm a bit out of practice).

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

In the Atonement, Christ took upon himself all the sins and afflictions of every person that ever lived, lives, and will yet live. Because of the Fall of Adam and Eve, mankind became susceptible to sin and living in their sins forever unless there was a Savior provided for them. The Atonement has the ability to restore us to the Father's presence if we prove ourselves faithful in keeping the commandments of the Lord. Show more Show less

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

The purpose of welfare services is to help provide for the poor and needy and help them get on their feet with a stable situation. However, the welfare system can only go so far. Much of aiding the poor and needy should come from service rendered by willing volunteers. Show more Show less
