Hi I'm Matthew Lunsford

I live in Arkansas. I grew up in a different denomination and was an atheist for a bit. I'd always seek for truth, now I'm Mormon.

About Me

I have just finished nursing school and I was married on December 5th, 2014. I enjoy Frisbee golf, basketball, and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was always searching for the true church. I grew up in a Baptist household and grew in my knowledge of the Bible greatly. I became an atheist after being disappointed by some teachings. I couldn't comprehend how so many denominations were around but they all used the same verses to support vastly different doctrine. I became an atheist for a few months before I joined a Non-denominational church. My wife began meeting with Mormon missionaries and invited me to meet them, so I did. I studied all I could so that I could debate with the missionaries. I had many talking points that I hoped would win me the debate. The missionaries were very kind and answered my questions calmly and rationally. They gave me a Book of Mormon to read and pray if it was true. I began to read and pray. I wasn't convinced at first but I began to come to know that it was true. I came to understand with so many denominations, the gospel needed to be restored back to how Jesus Christ set it up in the New Testament. I sent a text to the missionaries and told them that I was ready to be baptized. I was baptized on November 1st, 2014. I was called to give a speech in Sacrament meeting and I even taught a lesson in the young men's class. Everyone has a voice in this church and everyone can have an opportunity to bear their testimony in church. I would encourage you to study your Bible, study the Book of Mormon, study the Doctrine and Covenants, and study the Pearl of Great Price. The Holy Spirit will reveal all truth if you humbly seek, read, and pray about it.

How I live my faith

I was recently baptized and married. My wife and I look forward to being sealed in the temple together for time and all eternity. I live my faith by leaving pass along cards in public places. I made a personal email that I write on the pass along cards so someone can contact me about my Mormon faith and I can answer any questions. When you join this church, it's amazing how quickly you grow in the faith. You quickly can grow in the church and have more responsibilities. You can give a speech in Sacrament meeting, teach a lesson in Sunday School, and even participate in home teaching. The best part is that everything is volunteer. No one makes money off of the gospel of Jesus Christ and that's the way it should be.
