Hi I'm Asher

I'm a feline fanatic. I'm a lover of languages. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have grown up in the desert with a steadfast love for animals, especially cats. I mean, you could totally say that I am "obsessed" with our friendly felines but that would be an understatement. Languages are like songs to me that I cannot get out of my head. Once I hear a language I love, I have to learn all the words/lyrics. It is both a blessing and a curse. I am intrigued by the human mind and its complexities and am planning on using that love and interest to become a psychiatrist for children and adolescents. The world, to me, is so grand and mysterious and my goal is to explore as much of it as I possibly can!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. It really is that simple. Being a Mormon, living in this true gospel, has picked me up from devastating times in my life and has taught me to be grateful for them, has taught me to learn from them, and has taught me to be happy in the midst of them. There are so many things I could say to make it sound like I had some glorious revelation or epiphany one day but it has never been that way for me. This gospel, being a Mormon, has taught me and helped me to be the happiest me. After all, Asher means "happy" and I need to live up to my name!

How I live my faith

I have grown up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and it has blessed my life immensely! Still, I have been exposed to an ample amount of different religious views! It was Joseph Smith who said, "We should gather all the good and true principles in the world and treasure them up, or we shall not come out true Mormons." As a result, I try my hardest to learn about other religions and their teachings so that I can come to call myself a true member of this church. As for callings, I have been an assistant to missionaries when I lived in Costa Rica, I am a ward choir pianist, and I am a servant to the Lord and my Savior. All have and are continually blessing my life.
