Hi I'm Katie

I'm a proud Californian and BYU student studying psychology. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Katie and I'm a student at BYU. I'm studying psychology and I would eventually like to get an MBA and teach high school. I'm also planning on getting married in the temple in December. I love sports and being with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

A lot of my friends asked me if I would still be a Mormon after I graduated high school. I told them that of course I would but for a long time, I wasn't sure why. After thinking about it for a while, I realized that I love this gospel. I love the peace it brings during trials and hard times. I love that I can talk personally and openly to my Heavenly Father. I love that one day, I can return to Him and live with Him and my family for eternity. I love that I have a rock solid foundation that I can always fall back on when I have doubts or fears or anxiety about the future. I know this gospel is true, I love it, and I hope to always be an example and a standard for the truth.

How I live my faith

I have been in several leadership positions in the church and have loved every minute of it. I love to tell people that I'm a Mormon and teach others about Christ and the gospel.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Katie
As my mom so wisely taught me, we love the people but not what they do. Everyone is a child of God and we have a responsibility to treat everyone like a divine son or daughter, no matter who they are or what challenges they may have. Show more Show less

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Katie
Tithing is used to build Zion. We use tithing for building temples and church buildings, education, paying for church materials, helping the poor and needy and funding part of the missionary program. Show more Show less
